Hey there. I'm Jeff.

Dummy Image

I'm a web designer and developer. I really like making websites beautiful and easy to use.

I also really like nachos. So there's that.

Developer + Designer = Designoper?

I'm a front-end developer who loves making it work and making it pretty. Everything from designing new landing pages, UI for the app, email templates or whole new homepage variations for A/B testing. I love taking a project from wireframes all the way to production. Photoshop, Fireworks or Coda are always open at any point.

Current projects

Lookit!

Lookit! - a daily mobile scavenger hunt
Lookit is my main side project. Every day, more than 1,000 Lookit users are given an idea, word or phrase and tasked with taking one picture of it on their cell phone. Then, they email their pic to the website where others vote and comment on their pic.

I designed and developed this prototype, but have since brought in a friend to help scale and polish the overall technical architecture.

AppSumo

AppSumo - Groupon for web apps
Groupon's obviously been successful lately, being labeled "the fastest growing web company ever". My friend Noah thought it would be awesome to do this for web apps, so he started AppSumo. He asked me to design and markup new homepage variations and the web app directory.

crowdSPRING

crowdSPRING - Crowdsourced design
crowdSPRING was started to help people from around the world access creative talent, and to help creatives from across the globe find new customers. I was brought in to help re-vamp key customer-facing areas of the site. My new "Post a Project" process immediately increased purchase conversions.

Fun Facts!*

  • I've worked at Walt Disney World, costume and everything. There are zero pictures of me in my costume.
  • This is my hand-drawn picture on the cover of the Wall Street Journal. Unfortunately, it was for "being addicted to email", not "saving a drowning child" or anything cool.
  • I actually bought Bruins season tickets when they were terrible. Since I can't ski, it's the best way to get through a New England winter.

* Truth guaranteed. Your actual fun may vary.

"Jeff is truly original. He walks into work with the attitude of being the luckiest guy in the world (and, honestly, he might actually be the luckiest guy in the world because you wouldn't believe the stuff that happens to him). He's creative, innovative and self-taught. As in, he's so interested in the stuff he does, he wants to teach himself. At home. At 2 a.m. When most people are sleeping. He is also - hands down - one the funniest people I have ever encountered, and he brings a real energy to the workplace."

- Darlene Doyle Manager, Director of Marketing at ZoomInfo and Sonicbids

"Jeff exudes an energy and creative aura that can be contagious to not only the individuals or teams that he works with, but an entire company. When he's not building the company culture, he's working on some of the most original, clever, and witty marketing that I've seen. Jeff made an unbelievable connection working with those in the Viximo creator community, helping to guide creators to build high-quality digital goods. His constant flow of ideas is a breath of fresh air. I'm privileged to have worked with such a smart individual.

- Aaron Pfeiffer Colleague, Software Engineer at Viximo

"One time I found an olive underneath the couch and Jeff was like, "Dude! That's disgusting!". He shamed me into not eating that olive and he might have possibly saved my life."

- Clint James Friend, Roommate
